On Saturday November 22nd House of Heroes will be hosting this year’s Battle of the Venues. It will be a 1 day tournament held at Loughborough University. The Battle of the Venues tournament format will be extended to include World of Warcraft, Legend of the 5 Rings and the VS. System CCG for the first time. All of the CCG’s will have a full tournament that will be fun for all levels of players. The tournaments will be run like a standard tournament with one overall winner, but it will also have the Battle of the Venues format built into it. Sounds confusing, but it really isn’t. Let me explain: after the final results of each tournament is completed and the overall winner is named, we will look for the venue or gaming group that has the 4 highest ranked players. That venue and the 4 highest ranked players will be awarded the Battle of the Venues trophy for that tournament, and each will win additional prizes. They will have their names added to the trophy’s base and they will be able to keep the trophy at their gaming club or venue for that year. The other advantage besides the pride of winning the trophy they will be able to brag that they have the best team of players in the country. Each winning team will then have the opportunity to defend the title and trophy next year, but they should remember that next year, the other venues will be coming to take your title away, and say THEY have the best players in the country.
